Terms of Use

Taskel is free, and these terms are short. They cover the Taskel app for iPhone and this website, usetaskel.com. By using either, you agree to them. Taskel is made by Brian Busco, an individual developer in California; “we” in these terms means that developer.

Who can use Taskel

You must be at least 13 years old.

The app

Taskel is a to-do app. This version is free. Your tasks, notes, lists, tags, reminders and settings are stored on your phone; the Privacy Policy says what little else we hold. Your download from the App Store is covered by Apple’s standard end user license agreement, which grants you the license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control; these terms add to it and do not replace it.

Your content

What you put in Taskel is yours. We claim no rights to it, and in this version we never see it. Because it lives on your phone and nowhere else, we cannot recover it for you if the phone is lost, reset, or the app is deleted. Keep a backup of your phone.

Using Taskel

Use Taskel and this website lawfully. Do not try to break into the app, the website or the services behind them, do not flood the waitlist or the website with automated requests, and do not copy or resell the app or the website. Taking the app apart is allowed only as far as Apple’s license agreement and the law permit.

Ownership and feedback

The Taskel name, logo, app and website are ours. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

Taskel AI and Cloud Sync

They are not part of this version. Joining the waitlist only means we will email you once when they are available. When they are offered, they will come with their own terms, and you can decide then.

Availability

We may change or discontinue the app, this website or the waitlist at any time, and we may stop serving anyone who breaks these terms. Because your tasks are on your phone, ending our side does not touch them.

No warranty

Taskel is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will be free of errors, that it will be available at all times, or that it will suit any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using Taskel or this website, including lost data, and our total liability to you for anything connected with Taskel is limited to the amount you paid us for it, which for this version is nothing. Some places do not allow this limit; there, it applies as far as it can.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. If we have a disagreement, email us first; most things are solved in a message or two. What cannot be solved that way goes to the state or federal courts in California.

The rest

If a part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies; if we let something slide once, we can still enforce it later. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. If you keep using Taskel after a change, the new terms apply.
